The Austin Public Schools Board on Monday night heard some updated information regarding upcoming reconstruction efforts for the Paulson Courts tennis facility.

No decision was made Monday night, but rather focus turned to what the next steps of the effort look like.

Plans call for a complete reconstruction of the courts due to the degraded nature of the pavement that are creating hazards in using the facility.

According to a memo to the board by Executive Director of Finance & Operations Todd Lechtenberg, because the work is estimated at over $100,000, the process turns to a sealed bid format with the process returning to the board after that to award the bids.

Lechtenberg said that this will be a project that will take place this summer.

The footprint of the courts will not change and will still feature eight courts. According to current plans, two of the courts will also feature lining for pickleball.
