Penny to speak at ceremony for honor society

Former congressman and candidate for governor Tim Penny will be the featured speaker at 6 p.m. Sunday when Austin High School students take part in an award and induction ceremony for the National Honor Society.
The event, which is being put on by the Austin Evening Lions club, will take place in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by contacting Terry Zabel at 437-8299.
Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Mower County Licensed Child Care Association will sponsor a training opportunity for "Infant/Child CPR and First Aid" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Austin Public Library. Cost for the event is $35.
Sunday, the Austin Symphony Orchestra will present "An Orchestral Showcase" at 2 p.m. in Knowlton Auditorium at Austin High School. For information, call 433-5647.
