Austin Area Arts has announced a trio of shows that are coinciding with work going on at the Historic Paramount Theatre as part of its renovation/expansion project.
The The Paramount Goes Dark Mini Performance Series kicks off on March 23 with Transit Authority: Premiere Chicago Tribute Band that will also feature the Austin High School Band as special guests. The show will take place at 3 p.m. in Knowlton Auditorium at Austin High School.
Then, on April 12, Frank W. Bridges Theatre at Riverland Community College will host Commotion: A Tribute to the Music of Creedence Clearwater Revival.
That show will take place at 7:30 p.m.
Finally, Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway will take to the Frank W. Bridges Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on May 8.
The price for each show is $30, however, a ticket bundle for all three shows is available for $79. All shows are general admission seating and student ticket prices are $10.
Organizers behind the project broke ceremonial ground on Jan. 22 that marked the official start of the $4.3 million project.
Those behind the project hope that the project will be completed in time for this year’s Austin ArtWorks Center.
