Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin and all its regional clinics recognized extraordinary service through its annual Service Excellence Awards.

These awards, distributed at events across the Mayo Clinic Health System and in Austin in early June, were presented to the system’s highest performing facilities, specialties and providers at an event in Mayo Clinic-Rochester. Local awards were presented during the Service Excellence Day celebration on June 2 by Dr. David Agerter, CEO at MCHS-Austin and Dr. Bob Collier, medical director for service excellence at MCHS-Austin.

Awards are based on patient satisfaction survey results and were presented to those scoring in the 90th percentile or better when compared to results from other health care facilities in the nation.

Four levels of awards were presented: Platinum, for those facilities, sites, specialties, units and providers scoring in the 99th percentile in patient satisfaction; Gold, for those in the 95th-98th percentile; Silver, for those in the 90th-94th percentile; and Burgundy, for those who had a significant improvement in patient satisfaction from 2009. In all, awards were presented to 15 facilities, 12 sites, 13 specialties, 14 units and 61 providers.
