High scores evade bowlers

It continues to be somewhat of a struggle for Austin bowlers to come up with any award scores.
Conditions continue to be challenging, and even though there has been some decent scoring, it has not compared to prior years. All bowlers love to shoot big scores, however it can still be fun to see if you are the one to beat a tough condition.
Normally the week's leading scores come from the strong 65ers, Metro or Classic League. Last week the leaders of both the ABC and WIBC division came from the surprisingly tough Saturday Night Splits League. Al Smith came out on top of the ABC group by knocking down a 694 series that included a week high 278 game.
Mary Jo Prazak was nearly as impressive by tallying a big 662 series that included a 257 game to outdistance a nice 620 series by Sue Stoltenberg.
Ed Kuether topped all of the senior men with a 650 series from the Tuesday league. Following closely behind was Duane Dahlback with a 646 series and a 267.
Nadine Wehrhan returned to the senior ladies leaderboard with a 552 series. Lonnie Murphy had the senior lady high game of 223.
All WIBC 600 members and ABC 700 members should sign up for the annual 1,300 club event that is upcoming soon. This is one of the most popular events of the season and is a couples event. Check with the front desk at Echo Lanes for sign-up information. No youth report was received this week.
