This weekend, chocolate lovers will have a chance to feel good about their sweet tooth.

The Fifth Annual Chocolate Lover's Afternoon will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Main Ballroom at the Holiday Inn to benefit the Comforcare Good Samaritan Center.

For a $5 ticket, participants can have "as much chocolate as you can eat," said Diane Wacholz, resource development director for Comforcare.

Local restaurants, bakeries and even coffee shops will be offering chocolate treats.

A silent auction also will be held. Home decorations, gift certificates and wines are just a few of the items to bid on, Wacholz said.

In all 40 local businesses will donate time, treats, auction items or floral displays, she said. The Holiday Inn co-sponsors the event.

All of the proceeds of the fund-raiser will go toward Comforcare. Past fund-raisers have helped add its courtyard and have helped refurnish rooms, Wacholz said.

The chocolate frenzy was first held at the Historic Hormel Home, but it outgrew that locale after its first year, Wacholz said. Last year more than 300 chocolate lovers attended.

"It's a nice way to spend a snowy, cold and gray afternoon," Wacholz said.
