Norma Erickson

Norma Jean Dalager-Erickson, 85, of Austin, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.

Norma was born Nov. 4, 1925, to Walter DeLoss and Gladys Marie (Rhodes) Fuller in Sebeka, Rockwood Township, Wadena County, Minn.

She married Lloyd Dalager on Nov. 4, 1945, in Austin. To this union six children were born. Lloyd passed away in 1965.

Norma married Palmer Erickson on June 17, 1967 ,at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin where they made their home. A member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church where she volunteered for WELCA, Norma enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing, picnics and going up North in the summer.

Survivors include nine children, Mary Jo (Clarence) Liebfried, Rochester; Ed (Dea) Erickson, Denver, Colo.; Gloria (Mark) Markkula, Hayward; John (Bonnie) Dalager, Austin; Judy (Harry) Wangen, Hayward; Pam (Steve) Bjoraker, Golden Valley; Paul (Misty) Erickson, Reno, Nev.; Cindy (Jack) Cottrell, Oakland; Dan Dalager, Austin; 10 grandchildren: Melissa, Trisha, Jason, Scott, Cody, Mari, Derek, Cari, Clay and Robert; nine great grandchildren: brothers, Roy (Judy) Fuller, Wally (Alice) Fuller, John (Donna) Fuller, Glen (Phyllis) Fuller; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Walter Fuller; husbands, Lloyd Dalager and Palmer Erickson; granddaughter, Tammy Liebfried; sisters, Ruth and Betty; brothers, Clarence and Don.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastors Ron Barnett and Kent Otterman officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Worlein Funeral Home, Austin is in charge of arrangements.
