Southland stops three-game skid; Prep roundup

Tim Schneider scored 13 points and Scott Gilles had his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds in Southland's 57-40 victory over Lewiston-Altura Thursday night in Adams.

The Rebels made seven three-pointers but got a combined 34 points from its post players, including Schneider, Dan Bakker (10) and Gilles.

The Rebels (8-7, 6-5) play at home against LeRoy-Ostrander (13-0, 7-0) Monday night in Adams at 7:30 p.m.

Lyle/Pacelli girls let one get away

The Lyle/Pacelli girls' basketball team let one get away from them in a 37-33 Southeast Conference loss to visiting Glenville-Emmons Thursday night in Lyle.

Lindsay Halbach scored a career-high 11 points for L/P, who fell to 3-13 overall and 3-6 in the SEC.

Lyle/Pacelli led the entire game until the fourth quarter, including an advantage of as many as 10 points in the third period.

L/P plays in Faribault Monday night at 6 p.m. against the Minnesota Academy of the Deaf.

Grand Meadow girls drub LeRoy-Ostrander, 82-34

Four players scored in double figures as the Grand Meadow girls' basketball team completed the season sweep of LeRoy-Ostrander, 82-34, Thursday night in Grand Meadow.

Sarah Holm led the Superlarks with 15 points, followed by Cassie Fay with 14, Nickole Stier with 12 and Sam Inglebret with 10.
