Daisy A. Madson, 77
Daisy A. Madson, 77 of Blooming Prairie, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at Austin Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Benson, to Fred and Mabel (Torseth) Bjork.
On Aug. 28, 1943, she married Obed Madson in Hayfield.
Daisy spent most of her adult life in Blooming Prairie. A member of First Lutheran Church, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, puzzles, crossword puzzles and spending time with family.
Survivors include children, Judith (Randy) Gasner; David (Margie) Madson, both of Owatonna; Orlyn Madson, St. Paul; Bruce (Marsha) Madson, Ellendale; Merlyn Madson, Owatonna; Barbara (Terry) Schneider, Blooming Prairie; Russell Madson, Northwood, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred Bjork, Jacksonville, Ark.; Joseph (Janet) Bjork; Delano (Ramona) Bjork, both of Embarrass; Betsy Retterath, Adams; Mae Ashton, Austin; Fern (Frank) Bily, Montgomery; Roger (Lila) Bjork, Decorah, Iowa; Ruth Schmidt of Austin; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, William, Laura, Elaine, Merle and Eugene; son, Jerald; grandson, Jason; and a great-grandson.
Visitation: 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at the funeral home and Saturday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Heidi Heimgartner officiating.
Interment: Westfield Cemetery, Dodge Center.

Lloyd Anderson, 84
Lloyd Anderson, 84, of Austin, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at St. Mark's Lutheran Home.
He was born Jan. 8, 1918, in Trimont, to Ernest and Annie (Holden) Anderson.
He graduated from Trimont High School and in 1940 graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College. He taught math at Mapleton High School from 1940 until 1942, when he joined the Army and was stationed in Louisiana.
On Jan. 16, 1943, he married Margaret Olson at Augustana Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, where he was an active member.
Lloyd's service in World War II ended in 1945 in India. The family moved to Austin in 1946, and Lloyd received his master's degree from the University of Minnesota in 1947.
A member and former president of the Henriei Microbiolist Society, he worked at the Hormel Institute as a microbiologist from 1946 until his retirement in 1983.
He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, serving on the Church Council and many other boards and committees, as well as teaching Sunday School. He was also judge for the high school science fairs in Austin for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading. He was a Gideon and began the CBC group in Austin.
Survivors include wife, Margaret; sons, David Anderson, Marietta; Georgia and James Anderson, Moorhead; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eleanore Anderson.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Arnold and Clinton Anderson.
Visitation: 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, Jan. 2, 2003, at the funeral home and Friday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ronald Barnett officiating.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91.
