Generosity of donors is evident

Last year, there were concerns about the economic fallout after Sept. 11. This year, it's the anticipated multi-billion deficit our state's economy is up against.
But apparently it's no matter to area citizens.
Thanks to the generosity of local individuals and businesses alike, the United Way of Mower County was able to exceed its goal of $775,000.
The fund drive ended Tuesday, but the generosity continues. In fact, we're confident more money will continue to come in even when the group has its celebratory dinner in the coming months.
It's a testament to the support area citizens and businesses have for the United Way. It's an agency that provides local financial support for 72 programs through 29 partner agencies.
Many donors also know that the vast majority of donations to the local United Way chapter stays in Mower County.
We tip our hat to all those who donated to this worthy cause.
