Seventeen different vehicles were reportedly damaged in Racine late Saturday or early Sunday by an unknown suspect or suspects who removed tire valve caps and stems.
The incident was called in to the Mower County Sheriff’s Office at 5:40 a.m. Sunday by the owner of one of the 17 vehicles. Authorities later investigated and determined that the cars that were damaged had been parked on three different roads in the southeast part of town — Minnesota, Main and Harrison.
In each case, the valve stems and caps were left by the tires, a sheriff’s department report indicates.
The report does not specify whether all four tires were defaced on each of the vehicles.
No suspects have been identified in the case.
