The Austin gymnastics team went head-to-head against John Marshall on Friday and came away with a 123.05 to 112.10 victory over the host Rochester team.

The win is the first one of the young season for the Packers.

Whitney Johnson took home first-place honors in the all-around with an overall score of 32.925, and teammate Danielle Chapek placed third with a score of 31.850.

"They're making fewer mistakes, they made significantly fewer falls on the balance beam," said Austin first-year coach Billie Jo Wicks. "I'm very pleased with the girls' performance, they did a really good job."
