In a third criminal complaint, Waters is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

In all three complaints, Waters faces nine felony charges.

He was arraigned in court Wednesday and asked for an omnibus hearing. He will return to court 10:30 a.m. Dec. 27, when District Judge Fred W. Wellmann will preside over that hearing.

Waters was charged in connection with a Nov. 11 burglary of an Austin residence. In that burglary, police theorize items were taken in retaliation for an unpaid drug debt.

Waters and another accomplice are also charged in connection with a "road rampage" incident Nov. 13 in which shots were fired from a handgun taken in the Nov. 11 burglary.

In the Nov. 13 incident, a vehicle containing Waters and his accomplices attempted to elude police after an occupant fired shots into the air. When their getaway car was abandoned near Queen of Angels Catholic School, the handgun was discarded and found lying along a street in front of the school the following morning, according to police.

When police searched the car also left behind, they discovered a video camcorder, containing film which showed several individuals, including Waters, committing incriminating acts.

Waters was caught after a foot chase in the northeast Austin neighborhood. On Nov. 15, his accomplice was caught at Faribault.

Authorities conducted three search warrants of residences and continue to investigate leads in connection with the events of two weeks ago in Austin.
