Frank Wayne Dennison Sr., 69, of Austin, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at his home.

Frank Wayne Dennison was born July 3, 1942 in Austin, to Fred E. and LaVera A. (Vasey) Dennison. He grew up in Austin and began working at Elk River Concrete Products. In 1972, he began working for the City of Austin in the area of heavy equipment. On Aug. 31, 1979, Frank married Mary Bowe at Crane Community Chapel. He retired from working for the city of Austin in 2003. Frank enjoyed listening to country music and having his beer. He liked fishing, camping, and enjoyed wildlife and being in the sunshine. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Austin; children, Lon Oleson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Bill Oleson (Pam) of Waseca, Katy Ashton (Scott) of Austin, Robin Oleson (Dan) of Austin, Todd Dennison of New Ulm, Melissa Root (Doug) of Austin, Steve (Kristy) Dennison of Minnesota City, Chad Dennison (Amanda) of Owatonna, daughter-in-law, Dawn Dennison of Austin and Laura (Bobby) Gladden of Austin, who was like a daughter; 30 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Clark of Austin, Lorraine (Ron) Lusby of California; brother, Virgil Battin of Minneapolis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Frank Jr.; brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Rev. Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Friends may call at Worlein Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
