The Southland softball team snapped a three-game losing streak when it hung on to beat Hayfield 14-9 on the road Friday.
The Rebels (2-3 overall) jumped out to a 11-0 lead after scoring seven in the top of the second, but they committed five errors to help the Vikings (0-6 overall) get back in it.
“It was good for the girls to get a win,” Southland head coach Greg Schulte said. “They played well, but the defense needs to get a little better.”
Jenna Juenger hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for Southland.
