2 in custody for Minn bar shooting
WHITE BEAR LAKE — Two men are in custody for a weekend armed robbery and shooting inside a White Bear Lake bar.
Police say the men wore ski masks and were carrying handguns when they stormed the White Bear Bar early Saturday and demanded money. Two bar patrons suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The tavern owner, T.J. Ricci, tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that one customer was hurt while trying to wrestle with one of the robbers. Another customer was injured when one of the gunmen fired a shot inside the bar.
Ricci says the gunmen ordered his wife to open the safe. He says the men fled with money, bank bags and deposit slips. Police arrested one of the men a short time later and the other man about 5 p.m.
