MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Transcripts from 911 calls made as a man killed six people at a Minneapolis sign company show terrified employees called for help while racing to leave.

Thirty-six-year-old Andrew Engeldinger fatally shot six people and then killed himself in the building’s basement after learning he was fired Sept. 27 at Accent Signage Systems.

The City of Minneapolis released 20 pages of 911 transcripts, as well as the audio of police calls to emergency dispatchers.

In one of the first 911 calls, a female employee reported seeing Engeldinger running around with a handgun and then she heard shots and saw blood everywhere.

Engeldinger’s parents say they believe their son suffered from mental illness. They tried to get him help, but he refused and ultimately cut off contact with them.
