Blooming Prairie freshman John Rumpza played a big role in two wins for the Awesome Blossoms this past week. On Saturday, he allowed just one run as BP beat Lyle-Pacelli 4-1. On Thursday he came in the seventh inning with BP clinging to a one-run lead and United South Central had the bases loaded with no outs. Rumpza retired three batters in order to get the save. For the week, Rumpza pitched 12 innings and allowed eight hits, nine walks and five runs, while striking out 10. He went 5-for-14 at the plate with two doubles and three RBI at the plate.
