MANKATO – Austin junior Lauren Stasi had the best round of her career, but the Austin girls golf team fell short to Mankato East by one stroke in a dual in Mankato Saturday.

The Cougars edged Austin by a score of 384-385, but Stasi finished as medalist as she shot an 85.

“She was playing really well today. It was fun to watch,” Austin head coach Erik LaRock said. “Combined, all six girls were 20 over par on the last hole. The eighteenth hole is difficult, but we need to learn how to close out a round better than that.”
