Packer gymnasts take first in Farmington
FARMINGTON — The Packer gymnastics team took first place at the Farmington Invite with a team score of 143.5 Saturday.
Austin set season highs on the beam with a 36.5 and the vault with a 36.95. The floor, which is usually Austin’s best event, was a different story for the Packers.
“The varsity was a mix of good and confusing the good,” Austin head coach Mark Raymond said. “I do not want to complain about scores (on floor) but I do not think the judge had much expereince with quality routines. She was really inconsisitent and low all day. Our girls were .5 to .7 off their season averages.”
Sela Fadness took first on the vault and bars for Austin, Carolyn Hackel was first on the floor and Abby Snater was first on the beam.
