Fox, Goetz, Green and Larson elected to school board

The results are in: Don Fox, Angie Goetz, Kathy Green and Greg Larson captured the four open Austin Public School board seats Tuesday night.

Fox and Green, the incumbents, kept their seats while Goetz and Larson earned their first board posts.

Larson, of Hill, Larson, Walth & Benda, captured the most votes with 3,462. Goetz, the Western Manor Apartments property manager, got 3,323 votes while Fox, who worked as a principal and physical education teacher among other things in his 40 year career, got 3,294.

Green, a longtime board member barely beat out Jeff Ollman, a former speech and language pathologist who worked in the district for about 31 schools by 46 votes. Green had 2,902 while Ollman received 2,856. Mayo researcher Carol McAlister got 2,517 votes.
