Quick thinking stops potential jail attack
Quick thinking not only prevented a a dangerous situation in jail, it won three jailers employee of the month.
Sgt. Michael Feuerhak, Laura Chaffee and Guadalupe Reyes were honored for responding to a detainee who attempted to attack Chaffee.
During booking, the detainee leapt over the booking counter and attempted to jump Chaffee, who slid back in her chair to avoid the person. Reyes and Feuerhak quickly stepped in to subdue the man. Sheriff Terese Amazi praised the officers for their quick thinking.
“It could have been a lot worse situation,” Amazi said. “We could have had some injuries, and that was not the case.”
