The local chapter of the American Red Cross will once again hold blood drives in the area.

Residents can donate blood at Sterling State Bank in Austin from June 3 to June 6. The blood drive is open from 1 to 7 p.m. June 3, and noon-6 p.m. June 4, 5 and 6.

To emphasize the importance of giving blood year-round, the American Red Cross encourages those eligible to become regular donors, especially during the summer. World Blood Donor Day is on June 14.
