Blooming Prairie boys beat Medford

MEDFORD — The Blooming Prairie boys basketball team beat Medford (6-18 overall, 3-13 Gopher) 69-49 in its regular season finale on the road Thursday.

Freshman John Rumpza had 24 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks for BP (11-13 overall, 6-9 Gopher) and junior Michael Thomas added 22 points, six rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

BP finishes in fifth place in the Gopher Conference and it will enter the Section 1A West Division Tournament as a No. 3 seed. BP will host No. 6 Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton March 1 at 7 p.m.
