Facelift, new name coming for Bremerton

Bremerton Townhomes owners have changed the complex’s name and will soon give it a $2.5-million facelift.

Construction will start today on the apartments — renamed Meadows West as of June 7 — starting with its unoccupied apartments. The move, which includes changing the apartments’ office number from 507-437-2380 to 507-434-2000, is part of an attempt to rebrand the affordable housing units, according to Brian Haack with Titan Development and Investments, the property’s management company.

“The goal for the new ownership group is to place the apartments in service for another 30 years,” Haack said. “We’re very excited about the project.”

Haack said the remodel — led by Minneapolis-based general contractor Vaith Construction — will include new, energy-efficient appliances, new flooring and cabinets, and new siding and landscaping, among other renovations for all of the 60 apartments. He said the first units should be ready in August, and tenants will move to the finished apartments as they remodel the rest. Haack said they expect the entire project to be finished by spring 2013.
