Pacelli Golf Day, HOF Banquet is June 22

Pacelli Catholic Schools’ annual Golf Day and Hall of Fame Banquet will take place Friday, June 22. There will be golf at River Oaks Golf Course, starting at noon. Barthels completes basic training

Navy Seaman Recruit Valerie Barthels, daughter of Denise and Theodore Barthels of Austin, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Barthels completed a variety of Navy training.

The capstone event of boot camp is “Battle Stations.” This exercise gives recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet. Battle Stations is designed to galvanize the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance in each recruit through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of honor, courage and commitment.

Barthels is a 2011 graduate of Immanuel Lutheran High School of Eau Claire, Wis.

Scholarship: Hueman

Lukas Hueman is the 2012 recipient of the Arkema Blooming Prairie Plant Scholarship Award. This award is presented each year to a qualifying graduating senior from Blooming Prairie High School. The award is in the amount of $4,000. Half of the award is given at the time of graduation, the balance after successful completion of the first college year with the intention of enrolling for a second year. This award is designed to encourage graduating seniors to enter selected fields of science or engineering.

Scholarship: Farr

Taylor Farr, of Blooming Prairie, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from Bemidji State University.

Waldorf dean’s list

Molly Maschka, of Austin, was named to the Waldorf College dean’s list for spring 2012.

NDSU dean’s list

Joshua Tan, of Austin, was named to the North Dakota State University dean’s list for spring 2012.

St. Cloud St dean’s list

Courtney Fleming and Ashley McColloch, of Austin, were named to the St. Cloud State University dean’s list for spring 2012.

Graduations: Scibilia

Katy Scibilia, of Austin graduated from the University of Oklahoma in spring 2012. Scibilia earned a bachelor’s degree.
