Austin man pleads not guilty to burglary, stalking charges
An Austin man accused of stalking a woman at Bremerton Apartments has pleaded not guilty to burglary and stalking charges.
Jaime Jesus Rembao, 24, entered his plea in Mower County Court Thursday morning. He faces two felony stalking charges, one count of first-degree burglary and one charge for driving after revocation.
Rembao was arrested the night of March 8 after a woman had called the police and said she thought someone was acting suspicious outside her window and potentially stalking her. When police arrived at Bremerton Apartments, they saw fresh footprints in the snow that led to the front window area of the woman’s apartment. The front screen had been removed, implying that the man had attempted to enter through the window.
Police Chief Brian Krueger previously said police found Rembao after following the footprints to the back of the building.
Rembao’s trial begins June 20.
