Flood warning issued for Turtle
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Turtle Creek in Austin.
As of this morning, the Turtle’s depth was 9.36 feet. The creek is expected to surpass the 10.5-foot flood depth by a few inches tonight.
The water is expected to subside by Saturday evening.
Despite the flood warning, the most significant flooding is expected in the Twin Cities and the Fargo-Moorhead area.
The Cedar River is expected to peak Saturday without reaching the flood stage.
Snow melt alone may push the Cedar River’s depth to 11.7 feet on Saturday, which is about four feet shy of the flood stage.
The Cedar’s current depth is about 10 feet.
