Accentra shreds 3,500 pounds of paper on community shred day
Several people arrived early on Sept. 17 to take advantage of the Austin Accentra Credit Union’s first annual community shred day.
Kim Schroeder, Vice President of Operations and Boy Scouts Ted Krueger and Nick Andera helped unload the documents and deposit into the recycling bins. Over 3,500 pounds of paper documents were shredded.
Participants were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the local Salvation Army and they came through with 326 pounds of food being donated along with $50.
Plans are being made for the Second Annual Shred Day in the fall of 2012. The date will be announced during the summer of next year.
