A Grand Ole Opry performer is set to honor her biggest inspiration when she takes the stage in Austin this Saturday.

Colene “CoCo” Walters, a Patsy Cline impersonator, will be back at the Paramount Theatre for the third time when she performs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16.

“This is a celebration about [Patsy Cline’s] life and music,” said Walters before a rehearsal Thursday afternoon. “She opened the doors for many country singers. She is a soulful country singer.”

Walters, the youngest of six siblings, has been singing professionally since she was 17. One of her sisters was an opera singer, and Walters said she has always had a great interest in singing. She performed duets at the Grand Ole Opry from 1994 through 2001, has been doing Patsy Cline tributes in the Midwest sense 2003 and is working on a new album. She said she loves the 60s and 70s one-hit wonders, along with that era’s fashion.

Walters will perform Cline’s country hits and act her Vegas lifestyle. The tribute will be much different then previous ones, though. She said there will be more costumes, new songs and a power point with a narrator about Cline’s life and death.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door and $5 for students.
