Items stolen from restaurant near Dexter
The vacant Windmill Travel Center restaurant near Dexter is missing much of its copper electrical wiring, among other items, after being broken into sometime between Nov. 11 and Dec. 2.
Sheriff Terese Amazi said among the items missing were metal urinal dividers, stainless steel utility tub, stainless steel covers and drawers from the kitchen, a motor fan and copper wiring.
Amazi also said that every electrical panel in the building had been tampered with when the break-in was discovered.
The perpetrator broke one of the windows to enter the building and apparently removed panels and ceiling tiles to get to the copper wiring.
There are no suspects and no loss estimate at this time. The incident is under investigation.
