Duplicate Bridge

Tournament results for Aug.19, five tables played: First place, Loren Cleland and Bud Higgins; second place: Dave Ring and Orrion Roisen; third place, Helen Ringham and Marilyn Gesme; fourth place, Vandy Newman and Gene Muchow.

Duplicate Bridge is played each Wednesday at noon at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin. All Bridge players are welcome. Call Dave Ring at 507-434-4189.

 Golden Age Club

President Everett DeYoung conducted the meeting, opened by reciting the flag pledge.

Hazel Baldner, chaplain, recited the reading entitled, “In A Garden of Peacefulness, Flowers Everywhere, Given by God’s Grace.”

Secretary Sylvia Ginder read the report for July. Treasurer Ruth VanHooser read the report for July, stating a balance of $816.71.

Both reports were accepted, first by Jo Ann Maxfield and seconded by Denny Bray.

No new or old business was reported.

An August birthday was celebrated by Mary Ann Davis and an August anniversary by Vernon and Sylvia Ginder. A get well greeting was sent to Eleanor Anderson
