Duplicate Bridge

Tournament results for Oct. 22 with four tables played: First place, Joyce Crowe and Gene Muchow; second place, Orrion Roisen and Dave Ring; third place, Eunice Michaelis and Warren Behrends; fourth place, Bud Higgins and Jim Fisher.

Duplicate Bridge is played each Wednesday at noon at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin. All Bridge players are welcome. Call Dave Ring at 507-434-4189.

 NARFE

National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 469 met Oct. 14, 2014, at the Pizza Ranch in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Bruce Stolaar and Florence Brandt from Albert Lea hold us about the Gideon jail ministry program they participate in. The business meeting followed. Committee reports were given. Chapter 469 will not meet in December. Our next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 10, 2015, at the Pizza Ranch in Austin, Minnesota.

Eagles Auxiliary State President Vi Manderud from Fergus Falls, Minnesota, made her official visit to the Austin Eagles Auxiliary as they celebrated their 79th anniversary. She was officially welcomed by the Aerie treasurer Carmel Taylor. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Barb Sprandel with her beautiful rendition of “On Eagles Wings.” A delicious banquet of chicken Kiev was served by Lisa Legried and staff.
