Prepping for the upcoming annual mystery trip

Our annual mystery trip will be Thursday with a departure at 7:30 a.m. from the Walmart parking lot.

It is always fun looking for new ideas and destinations where our travelers may not have been. Perhaps it will be a new experience.

A clue to this year’s trip is: “You do not need a passport, but we are taking you on a ride.”

Casual dress will be just fine for this day. We will return to Austin about 6 p.m.

Upcoming trips

•Sept. 3 — Minnesota State Fair: After experiencing such great summer weather at our own county fair,  an even bigger fair is on our schedule.

Once again there will be many new food stands to try plus all of the buildings with lots of exhibits, education and music all around.

With senior day, you can expect lots of special activities.  Extended sign-up date is Aug. 25. Cost includes deluxe motorcoach and entrance fee. Departing time is 7:30 a.m. and the return time is 6 p.m.

•Sept. 16-17 — Octoberfest on the Celebration Belle Riverboat inDubuque, Iowa: This trip also includes a city tour, lodging at the Holiday Inn, cruise entertainment with “Barefoot Becky” and her band, and an arboretum tour with lunch at the highest point in Iowa at a seven generation family farm. There is still time to sign-up and join us.
