Argument allegedly involved gun pointing

A he-said-she-said argument over who pointed a gun on Thursday morning may land domestic assault charges on one Austin man, according to police.

Austin Police went to a Fourth Avenue SE home at 7 a.m. Wednesday, where a 44-year-old man and 36-year-old woman had allegedly been arguing for nearly the past 24 hours. The report states that the argument died down and then flared up several times. Each resident claims that the other was threatening him/her by pointing a gun. While the man and woman were cooperative with police and told them where the guns were kept, police arrested the man because the woman said the argument went physical during the morning hours. Yet the woman adds that scratches on her neck may also be from a dog, which was angered during the fight.

According to police, the man may receive second-degree assault charges; however, misdemeanor domestic assault may be more likely.
