Freedom Fest looking for talent

It’s a few weeks out, but the Fourth of July Freedom Festival is approaching, and the event needs more artists.

Artists 16 or older can take their drawings, paintings, sculptures, photography to the Austin Area Art Center in the Oak Park Mall from noon to 4 p.m. June 24 through June 26, where they will be entered into this year’s event. Art pieces must be display ready.

Entry fee is $15 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry with a limit of three. Awards are available for professional, pro-am and amateur categories along. The best art for sale may also get a $500 purchase award from the City of Austin.

The Austin Area Art Center will determine which pieces will be displayed for Freedom Festival. Entry forms can be obtained at the AAAC, Austin Public Library, and Lou’s Forever Framing.
