Grand Meadow girls fall to Lanesboro

The Grand Meadow girls basketball team couldn’t control the ball in the late minutes of a 50-42 loss to Lanesboro (3-3 overall, 3-0 SEC) in GM Friday.

The game was tied at 42 with two minutes left, but the Larks (2-2 overall, 1-2 SEC) couldn’t close the deal.

“We had a couple of crucial turnovers on rushed decisions and they made their free throws down the stretch,” GM head coach Dawn Baudoin said. “We really could’ve had this one, but we’re playing better than we were in our first game.”

The Burros went 11-for-19 on free throws, while GM shot just one free throw.

GM scoring: Cortney Olson, 12; Audra Durhman, 10; Sydney Richardson, 7; Autumn Thorsen, 7; Ashley Crumb, 4; Stephanie Russell, 2; free throws: 100 percent, 1-for-1
