The Hayfield boys basketball team edged out Maple River (3-3 overall) 66-59 in Hayfield Thursday.

The Vikings (8-1 overall) jumped out to an 18-4 lead and they stayed ahead by at least two possessions the rest of the way.

“[Maple River] has three really good players and they’ll be pretty good by the end of the year,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said.

Cole Kruger had 16 points and Cam Rutledge added 15 points for Hayfield.
