Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly hit a pedestrian this morning and drove away from the accident.

According to the police report, the 23-year-old victim states a Ford Windstar minivan hit him at about 1 a.m. while he was walking on E Oakland Avenue. The victim said he was struck by the passenger side bumper, knocked to the ground and believes the rear wheel ran over his foot, as well. He added the vehicle almost went up on the curb.

While the victim initially declined medical attention, officers urged him to go to the hospital. The victim later went to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin at 4 a.m. His injuries are unknown.

The victim and others walking with him did not get a license plate number for the dark-colored van.
