Medical center recieves award for care

Minnesota Bridges to Excellence, a health care purchaser-led pay-for-performance program, recently recognized Mayo Clinic Health System sites in Austin, Adams and Blooming Prairie for delivery of high quality outcomes for patients with diabetes, vascular disease and depression.

In all, 19 Mayo Clinic Health System locations in Minnesota received this honor in the Twin Cities on Aug. 1.

“We are pleased to receive this recognition. Our employees work diligently with all patients to make sure their needs are met,” said Dr. Mark Ciota, CEO of Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin and Albert Lea. “High quality outcomes in these clinical areas reinforce our efforts.”

The Bridges to Excellence program bases its recognition on performance rates from clinic-level data submitted to Minnesota Community Measurement via direct data submission.

“The financial impact of conditions like diabetes, vascular disease and depression is well documented, and clinics that qualify for rewards from Minnesota Bridges to Excellence have made a commitment to improving outcomes for patients with these conditions,” said Carolyn Pare, president and CEO of the Minnesota Health Action Group.
