Homeowners deny meth charges

Both suspects in a March 29 drug raid pleaded not guilty Thursday in Mower County Court.

Adelfa Coroado Buentello, 52, and Ramiro Buentello Jr., 57, both pleaded not guilty to first-degree drug possession of more than 25 grams of meth, a felony.

Police raided the home at the 1600 block of Oakland Avenue East at about 7 a.m. March 29. Police breached the door when nobody answered but later spoke to Ramiro, who showed them 0.66 grams of meth folded in cash inside a pants pocket, according to the court complaint. Officers then found three stashes of meth totaling 41.8 grams hidden in the soil of potted plants, the complaint adds.

Ramiro has a July 22 pretrial, while Adelfa’s pretrial is set for May 24.
