Banfield students raise almost $23,000

Banfield Elementary School students are on their way to becoming great salespeople.

Students raise almost $23,000 this year through their annual sales catalog fundraiser.

“It was very exciting,” said Julie Clinefelter, Banfield’s Parent Teacher Committee “We weren’t sure how it would go. We’ve kind of underbudgeted in the past.”

Banfield students celebrated Friday by getting their teachers wet in the Silly Shower, grabbing as much as they could in the Money Pit, and the top sellers were treated to a limousine ride and lunch at Godfather’s Pizza.

Clinefelter said the money will be used to help Banfield teachers get the supplies they need to educate students throughout the year, as well as cover any outside costs for projects. Banfield’s PTC has purchased microscopes this year, as well as the I Excel math program, which students can use on computers at school and at home.
