Goergen notches all time leading scorer spot at Southland

ADAMS — Southland senior Mike Goergen only needed 17 minutes to score the 20 points he needed to reach a major milestone against Wabasha-Kellogg in Adams Friday night.

Goergen scored all 20 of his points in the first half to become Southland’s all-time leading scorer as the Rebels rolled past the Falcons (0-1 overall).

Goergen now has 1, 282 points in his career and he was presented with the game ball by Brad Tompkins, who had been Southland’s leading scorer since 1984.

“It was a good night all around and we played with good defensive pressure,” Southland head coach Jon Thalberg said.
