AHS grad receives high Navy destinction
Navy Lt. Sarah K. Philipp, currently attached to the Patrol Squadron 10 homeported in Jacksonville, Fla., was recently awarded the 2011 Aviation Battle Efficiency Battle “E” recognition from Commander, Naval Air Forces.
The aviation Battle “E” is the Navy’s top performance award presented to the aircraft carrier and aviation squadron in each competitive category that achieves the highest standards of performance readiness and efficiency. The award recognizes a unit’s training and operational achievements while including a balance that incentivizes efficiency.
Each member attached to a winning ship or squadron earns the right to wear the Battle “E” ribbon on their uniform.
Philipp is a 1998 graduate of Austin High School. She is a 2002 graduate of Williams College, Williamstown, Mass. with a BA degree and a 2009 graduate of University of Rochester School of Medicine, Rochester, N. Y. with a MD degree. She is the daughter of Kathleen Philipp of Austin and Paul Philipp of Austin.
