Bag causes ticketing area shutdown at Twin Cities airport
MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has resumed normal operations after an unattended bag caused the airport to shut down part of its ticketing area for about two hours.
Minnesota Public Radio News reports the backpack was left unattended on a United Airlines scale. The bag was spotted by Transportation Security Administration agents shortly after noon Saturday.
An airport spokeswoman says the outside of the bag was swabbed and tested positive for an explosive.
Airport police asked for help from the Bloomington bomb squad. The scene was cleared at about 2:30 p.m. and the airport resumed normal operations.
