Minnesota Bomb Squad to make routine stop at Austin Public Schools
The Minnesota Bomb Squad will be at Austin High School around 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday to help the school district dispose of the hazardous materials.
The Facility Services Department of Austin Public Schools monitors all hazardous materials and chemicals used in the schools and annually inventories and disposes of any materials not needed or no longer used by the school district’s buildings. The process of disposing of the materials requires specialized personnel and equipment of the Minnesota Bomb Squad.
The community should not be alarmed when they see the truck parked outside of the school.
