Mobile dental clinic in town all week
UCare’s Mobile Dental Clinic will make its first visit to Mower County this week to provide high-quality dental care to UCare members who live in the Austin area and are members of UCare’s Minnesota Health Care Programs and UCare for Seniors Medicare plan.
The Mobile Dental Clinic is parked at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1600 W Oakland Ave., in Austin for its scheduled weeklong stay. With this visit, Mower County joins a roster of 17 Mobile Dental Clinic host counties across Minnesota.
UCare’s Mobile Dental Clinic is a 43-foot “dentist’s office on wheels.” Eligible UCare members receive preventive care, such as cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments, as well as some basic restorative care such as fillings. The fully equipped dental office has three dental workstations, chairside digital radiology, and an electronic health record system. It also is fully accessible to members with disabilities and in wheelchairs.
The dental care delivered aboard the Mobile Dental Clinic is provided by dental, dental therapy, and dental hygiene students from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry who treat patients under the supervision of School of Dentistry faculty dentists.
“We are very pleased to bring our Mobile Dental Clinic to Austin for the first time,” said Ghita Worcester, UCare’s Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Marketing. “UCare has long been committed to improving access to dental care for our members and communities across Minnesota. We thank our Mower County partners for encouraging UCare members to take advantage of this great health care opportunity.”
In Mower County, UCare offers MinnesotaCare, UCare’s Minnesota Senior Health Options (UCare’s MSHO), Prepaid Medical Assistance Program (PMAP), and Minnesota Senior Care Plus (MSC Plus). UCare also offers UCare for Seniors Medicare and UCare Connect, a Special Needs BasicCare plan for people with disabilities, in Mower County.
