Senior Center, Primose teaming up to help storm victims

Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast in October, causing massive destruction up and down the coast.

Sandy was a huge storm that spread over an area the size of Europe. Hurricane Sandy slammed into New York and New Jersey, and the grueling recovery effort continues with work being done to repair, rebuild and reopen shattered homes and businesses.

But the process has been uneven, and there is ample evidence that many people are still struggling in the aftermath of one of the most vicious storms to hit the region.

Primerose and the Mower County Senior Center have teamed up to show our support.

On Friday, Feb. 8, we will be hosting a fundraiser at the Senior Center. If you have friends, family or just someone you know that went through this devastating storm show your support by coming to the spaghetti supper from 5 to 7 p.m.

There will be a silent auction during the supper of items donated by our community business. This community has seen firsthand and knows what it’s like to survive a natural disaster.

Tickets are $6 in advance and $7 at the door. To buy your tickets for this stop by Primerose or the front desk at the Senior Center.

See you there. You are always welcome at the Senior Center.
