Letters to good ole Saint Nick
With my wishes for a Merry Christmas, enjoy these letters to Santa.
A letter written in England on Dec. 8, 1911:
“Dear Santa Claus, last year you brought me many nice presents and I think you were very kind indeed. I expect you would like to know what I should like you to bring me this year.
Well, I should like you to bring me a storybook, a postcard album, a box of chocolates and a sweetshop. We have a little baby and we would like you to bring him a little rattle that will blow.
Very soon we are giving a concert and we are learning some songs and you can come and hear them if you like.
I hope you will remember the very poor children in the slums and in the large towns. I might stay awake for some time to see you come in our bedroom to put the things in my stocking the night you come. Our house in on the common.
With much love, I remain your little friend, Mabel.”
Letters written in Austin in 2011:
“Dear Santa, I love you. I want to give your mom a flower for Christmas. I would like a doll and some ponies and a sun toy and some new clothes. My Dad and Mom like cookies and chocolate milk and me, too.
From Lanie”
“Dear Santa, I would like to have a Feed Me Baby for Christmas. I have been a good girl, even though I was really mad the other day.
From Olivia”
