This coming Friday will be a special night at Cornerstone Church.

The church is hosting a lady’s night featuring singer/speaker Sarah Groves.

This will mark the second time in Austin for Groves who performed a sold-out show in December of 2009. Approximately 400 women are estimated to attend this event.

“She is really a great girl and we just love her,” said Angie Goetz of Cornerstone. “We just thought it would be fun to have her to ourselves.”

Groves will balance her performance between singing and speaking with subjects including a wide range of things important to women.

“She will be talking a lot about women, female friends and supporting one each other,” Goetz said.

The concert is part of an effort in the church have more events for women.

“We really think it’s important to do things as women in the community,” Goetz said.

Groves singing can’t be nailed down to one form or the other, part an allure that will pull in a variety of musical interests.

“She’s a little bit of everything,” Goetz said. “She’s encouraging and uplifting.”

Tickets can be purchased through Hy-Vee, at Cornerstone Church and through its website at www.cornerstoneaustin.org. Tickets are $20.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show to begin at 7 p.m. There will be giveaways and drawings as well as a candy bar to be offered during intermission.
